Call it what ever you want. I have a love affair with books. Reading is my escape.
I felt alive every time I read. I love the feeling of being swept away with

BLURB:
Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. However, his human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind.
Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he’ll do anything to keep concealed. Until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.
Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both.
War has never been more deadly... or more fun.
MY THOUGHTS:
TWO WORDS: WOW. HEARTBREAKING.
I don't know what to say. It just.. WOW! It's beyond amazing!
I considered Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon as ONE OF MY FAVORITE. At first, I was really hesitant to read it. I actually planned to skip on the next book. From the previous books of series, the author gave us a bit information or rather a bit part of Acheron's dark past. And I don't like it. I don't really like to see him suffering and sad, and hurt. I just can't take it. But since I really wanna get to know more about him I decided to read the two volume of Acheron's Stories. It's really a long story. But it really is worth it in my opinion.. Worth the time and effort, and mostly it's worthy of my tears. italic text: sniff sniff
The first volume/first half of the story was all about Acheron's life as a human and his very early life as a god. It was really HEARTBREAKING. He was mistreated by everyone even Artemis, the woman he had made the mistake of falling in love with. I was really appalled by the horror and sufferings he have to endured even as a young boy.

He was so tired of begging.
And he was tired of being hurt.
I cried *sniff and ached for him. It was really gut-wrenching to read about Ash's tortures, pains, sufferings. He was abused physically, mentally, emotionally as well as sexually. He was abandoned and betrayed by the people who should loved him. Seeing him alone and too afraid to reach out to anyone because of fear of being hurt again, broke my heart into million pieces. All he asked for was two things no one give him: LOVE and RESPECT. He was aching for it.
On the lighter note, I can still pictured him as the guy with a long blonde hair, sexy andDROP-DEAD GORGEOUS! Oh yeah! Although he was presented as a Gothic Guy in the second volume/second half and from the other books for me he's still the blonde guy.
And I guess Travis Fimmel really fit the bill, don't you think? :)
As for the second half of the story, I can say that I really enjoyed it. It deals about Acheron's love life and life as a Dark Hunter. It was way better than the first half.
Enter Soteria Kafieri into the formula. Our heroine, Soteria or Tory first appeared in her cousin Geary's story with the Dream Hunter. She's an archaeologist and trying to uncover the truth about the Atlantis. That's when our Hero and Heroine met. Since Ash doesn't want anything from his past to surface. Acheron did his best to contradict and stop Tory in exposing him and the Atlantis.
He made fun of her findings. That's when she decided she hated Mr. Goth Asshole But of course, that's when their love story begins. Tory got Ryssa's diary and Acheron want it back. But the thing is, Ash is not the only one who wants the diary. Tory's life was put in danger and Acheron decided to stay closer to Tory. To protect her and the diary.
The chemistry between Ash and Tory was unbelievably sweet. And I really enjoyed their banters and constant bickering.
Acheron isn’t what Tory expected. After being with him and knowing the real Ash she couldn't help but ache for him.
She couldn't speak for the tangle of emotions that gathered in her throat to choke her. She was angry for him and heartbroken
She recognizes him as a man first, then as a leader, and lastly as a God. It didn't make any difference with her when she learned that Ash is a God. She respected him. And treated him as a man.
All that matters to me is the man in front of me right now.
I'm not a man, Soteria.
I know. But if you think your godhood excuses you from putting the toilet seat down, think again.
And after she learns of his past, his present, who and what he truly is… She still wants to be with him. She stood by him and supported him when he needs comfort and affection. Because of Tory's love for him, he realized his self-worth, and that he is still worthy to be loved. Because of Tory's unconditional and unselfish love for Acheron, he was healed. He found his redemption. Love really conquers all.
All in all, this book was really remarkable. Your heart hurts, then turns hopeful and burst with happiness. Sherrilyn did an AMAZING job with Acheron and I am so glad that I was able to read it. I absolutely love it!
I suggest buying one for yourself!
